The Football Association of Malaysia officially declares it has submitted an appeal to FIFA after receiving complete documentation from FIFA.
Late on October 6, FIFA officially released the dossiers of 7 naturalized Malaysian players involved in the recent violation. According to the documents, none of these 7 players have Malaysian ancestry, meaning the records were entirely fabricated.
On the morning of October 7, the Football Association of Malaysia issued an official statement regarding this matter. The FAM homepage released a formal announcement about filing an appeal to FIFA:
"The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) confirms that it has received full evaluation documents from the International Football Federation (FIFA) concerning the decision about the registration files of 7 national players.
Upon receiving these documents, FAM will formally submit an appeal through the designated legal channels. FAM also reiterates that all documents and supporting evidence related to this issue have been completed and are ready to be submitted to FIFA immediately via official channels.
FAM is seriously reviewing certain conclusions, especially allegations that players "obtained forged documents" or deliberately circumvented qualification rules. FAM confirms that FIFA has not provided any evidence to support these accusations.
All documents and records related to player registration have been fully prepared, verified, and managed by FAM according to the prescribed procedures. The players have always acted in good faith, relying entirely on the verification and registration processes conducted by FAM", the Malaysian football association emphasized.
Notably, Malaysia’s official football website also asserted that FIFA’s announcements are inaccurate and unfair: "FAM considers this footage to be inaccurate and unfair, and this issue will be thoroughly addressed through the official appeal process", FAM wrote.
"FAM remains committed to protecting the importance of national football, safeguarding the rights of players, and ensuring this process is transparent and compliant with regulations. FAM will use all available legal channels to fight this case. FAM also affirms that this case involves and contains official information related to the issuance and verification of passports by the Malaysian Government.
According to the Official Secrets Act 1972 and the Passport Act 1966, any unauthorized disclosure of such documents or procedures is strictly prohibited. Therefore, FAM has a legal obligation to keep these matters confidential. Hence, FAM will only share information related to FIFA for the purpose of this lawsuit."
