Ruben Amorim's Era at MU: Is It Getting Worse with Every Change?

Manchester United is currently engulfed in heavy pressure, and a comparative ranking compiled by Opta Sport shows they are 4 points behind where they stood at the same time last season.

When Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the leadership decided to dismiss Erik ten Hag at the end of October 2024, Red Devils fans surely hoped the change would spark a revival.

However, the reality at Old Trafford has been far from expectations. MU changed their coach but not their luck. Nearly a year has passed without clear improvement. In fact, things have worsened, as alarming statistics under Amorim demonstrate.

In the 34 Premier League matches coached by Amorim, MU has secured only 10 victories (half of which were against newly promoted teams). The Portuguese coach has yet to achieve two consecutive league wins since joining MU.

The ranking compiled by Opta Sport reveals that last season, after 7 rounds, the Red Devils had 14 points; this season, they have only 10 points — 4 points fewer than the same stage last year. These numbers leave Coach Amorim uneasy, especially as the so-called "sacking season" — October and November — approaches.
