At the official training session before the match against Nepal, the Vietnam team was at full strength.
On the afternoon of October 9th, the Vietnam national team held their final training session ahead of the match against Nepal in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers. The training was relaxed and filled with laughter among the players, yet remained serious. Notably, Coach Kim Sang Sik requested the entire team to wear their match kits instead of the usual training shirts.
After a light warm-up, the Vietnam team focused heavily on tactical drills. The Korean coach continuously reminded his players, no longer just observing as in previous sessions.
Additionally, the Vietnam team received positive news as both Bui Tien Dung and Nguyen Duc Chien were able to return to regular training with their teammates. Previously, both had injuries and missed the first two training sessions.
However, Coach Kim Sang Sik will not take risks. In the pre-match press conference, he confirmed that he would assess the situation carefully to select the best lineup: “Duc Chien and Tien Dung both suffered muscle strains and are currently recovering. The coaching staff is considering the most suitable personnel plan for the upcoming match.”
The U23 players also gave their all during this training. After several sessions, the young players have integrated better. Khuat Van Khang, Hieu Minh, Dinh Bac... received enthusiastic support from Coach Kim Sang Sik and the senior players.
When asked about using the young players in the official match, Coach Kim Sang Sik was vague: “I prefer to keep the personnel plan confidential. We are trying to connect the two generations of players to deliver the best performance. The young Vietnamese players are very talented and are an important foundation for the future.”
The match between Vietnam national team and Nepal national team will take place at 7:30 PM on October 9th at Go Dau Stadium. The home team’s goal is to secure all 3 points.
