FIFA unexpectedly mentioned the Vietnam national team ahead of their match against Nepal

FIFA's official Fanpage posted an energetic and positive status before the Vietnam national team's game against Nepal in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.

Just hours before Vietnam's national team took the field to face Nepal in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers, FIFA’s official Facebook page surprisingly shared a post about the "Golden Star Warriors," drawing special attention from domestic fans.

Specifically, FIFA’s Fanpage with over 64 million followers briefly wrote: “When the guys find out Vietnam's team is back today” alongside a photo of Tiến Linh celebrating excitedly on the pitch, with a packed stadium in the background. Although it was a short status, the post quickly garnered thousands of likes and comments within minutes of being published.

Notably, this is not the first time the FIFA World Cup page has directly mentioned the "Vietnam national team" on its official social media platforms. This move shows FIFA’s significant interest in the return of Vietnamese football to the international stage.

Many Vietnamese fans expressed excitement seeing their national team mentioned on FIFA’s page. Some humorous comments included: “If FIFA is eagerly waiting for Vietnam to play, imagine how the fans feel” and “The pride of the red flag with a yellow star is called out again” were frequently seen under the post.
