During the training camp in UAE, the U23 Vietnam team will play two international friendly matches against U23 Qatar, scheduled for October 9 and 13. According to coach Đinh Hồng Vinh, this is a valuable chance for the team to be tested and assessed:
“Facing high-level opponents like U23 Qatar is very beneficial. These two matches will help the coaching staff better evaluate the potential, adaptability, and identify quality players to report to head coach Kim Sang Sik, preparing well for upcoming training camps.”
On his part, midfielder Nguyễn Văn Trường shared: “Recently, the U23 Vietnam team has been supported by the Vietnam Football Federation to participate in many tournaments and high-quality international training camps. The whole team is preparing thoroughly for two important upcoming goals: SEA Games 33 and the 2026 U23 Asian Championship. We will do our best to meet the expectations of our fans.”
The training camp in UAE is a crucial step in the comprehensive preparation plan developed by the Vietnam Football Federation for U23 Vietnam, aiming to help the young squad continue developing, gain international experience, and aim for new achievements. This camp is also part of the football development cooperation program between the Vietnam Football Federation and the Qatar Football Association signed since 2023.
