Disappointed with Amorim, two players want to leave MU immediately

The two promising youngsters, Kobbie Mainoo and Joshua Zirkzee, wish to depart the club after not getting regular playing opportunities, in the context of takeover rumors from Saudi Arabia.

Following numerous personnel changes during the summer transfer window, Manchester United now faces the risk of losing two more players, as Kobbie Mainoo and Joshua Zirkzee reportedly want to leave due to a lack of game time.

According to sources from Sky Sports and Daily Mail, both Mainoo and Zirkzee have expressed frustration with their current roles under coach Ruben Amorim. Despite many changes after rumors of a Saudi Arabian investor takeover, the atmosphere in the Man United dressing room remains unsettled.

Kobbie Mainoo was once seen as a major hope for Old Trafford. He was expected to take over a midfield role after impressive performances last season. However, since Amorim took charge, Mainoo has barely been given a chance. He has not started any Premier League matches this season and has only made five substitute appearances, with his longest being 45 minutes against Burnley.

Sources reveal that Mainoo requested a loan move during the summer to find more playing time, but the club’s management rejected this. Amorim reportedly advised the young player to stay and fight for his spot, although he acknowledged that Mainoo is competing directly with captain Bruno Fernandes, who is almost irreplaceable in the current system.

Lack of regular play has caused Mainoo to lose his place in the England squad and sparked rumors that he might leave Old Trafford in the upcoming January transfer window. Napoli, who showed interest in the player last summer, continues to maintain contact with Mainoo’s representatives and is ready to offer a loan deal in January.

Joshua Zirkzee’s situation is no better. The Dutch striker has almost disappeared from Amorim’s plans. In seven Premier League matches this season, Zirkzee has only played a few minutes and has been an unused substitute four times.

According to Daily Mail, Zirkzee feels “extremely disappointed” to be left out of the playing plans, especially after being dropped from the Dutch national team by coach Ronald Koeman. The 23-year-old is now looking for opportunities to leave Manchester United for more playing time, with Napoli, Juventus, and PSV Eindhoven as potential destinations.

If both departures happen, Manchester United will face a deeper personnel crisis, especially as the club is undergoing reconstruction and is under heavy pressure for results. Losing faith from young talents may force the management and coach Amorim to reconsider their player utilization strategy moving forward.
