Kylian Mbappe has voiced criticism towards the media for twisting facts, leading to misconceptions about his relationship with teammate Vinicius at Real Madrid.
After a long period of silence, Kylian Mbappe finally addressed his relationship with teammate Vinicius at Real Madrid. In an exclusive interview with former star Jorge Valdano on the channel Movistar Plus, the French forward affirmed that all rumors about conflicts between him and Vinicius were exaggerated by the press to attract viewers.
Mbappe stated: “When two famous players are on the same team, it sells a lot of newspapers. But the truth is that Vinicius and I have a very good relationship, even better than last year. We understand each other more, both on and off the field. Vinicius is a fantastic player and a wonderful person.”
The 26-year-old star emphasized that there is no conflict between him and Vinicius as reported by the Spanish media. Instead, they share the same goal: helping Real Madrid win more titles.
“People always like to gossip, but we are focused solely on helping Real win. To achieve titles, both of us must be at our best and support the whole team,” Mbappe confirmed.
Previously, in the first months after joining Real Madrid in summer 2024, both Mbappe and Vinicius showed inconsistent form. Some Spanish newspapers claimed there was “silent competition” between the two stars in attack, causing Real’s play to lack cohesion. However, all doubts were dispelled in the 2025–26 season when the duo consistently shone.
So far, Mbappe has scored 14 goals in 10 matches, while Vinicius has 5 goals and 4 assists, significantly contributing to Real Madrid leading La Liga with 21 points after 8 rounds. Together, they have created 25 goal contributions, enough to silence any doubts about past “lack of harmony.”
With the duo’s brilliant form, Real Madrid is becoming a top contender for the La Liga and Champions League titles this season, proving that between Mbappe and Vinicius, there is only respect and a desire to win, not the conflicts rumored by the media.
