Coach Carlo Ancelotti praised a South Korean player following Brazil's dominant win in Seoul.
The South Korean national team suffered a heavy defeat against Brazil in a friendly match held in Seoul.
At the 17th minute of the first half, Estevao scored the opening goal, breaking the deadlock. By the 41st minute, Rodrygo doubled the lead with a precise finish. In the second half, the same duo continued to shine, each adding another goal, nearly deciding the outcome. At the 76th minute, Vinicius sealed Selecao's impressive performance with the final goal, making it 5-0.
During the post-match press conference, Coach Carlo Ancelotti did not hesitate to praise Son Heung-min, the captain of the South Korean team. Specifically, the Italian strategist said: "The player who impressed me the most was Son Heung-min. He is truly a major star. South Korea lost heavily to Brazil simply because Brazil is playing at a completely different level."
Despite Ancelotti's praise, Son Heung-min had a quiet game compared to his teammates. The 1992-born star started the match but left little impact and was overshadowed by the "Samba dancers" performance.
Regarding the performance against South Korea, Coach Ancelotti highly valued his players' attacking approach, pressing, and counterattacks.
The coach stated: "We scored in various ways, and I believe this was a truly high-quality match. When these elements are executed well, the team gains more attacking options and solutions for the World Cup. That is a very positive sign.
At the World Cup, we will face solid defenses. In such situations, the players' individual skills and creativity in finding solutions are extremely important. Today, they demonstrated that very well, and I am genuinely satisfied."
Four days later, on October 14, Brazil will travel to Japan to continue their friendly tour, where they will face the host nation.
