Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes is currently preparing with Portugal for the European World Cup qualifiers, and there have been many rumors about whether he will transfer next summer. Bruno has directly responded to the gossip connecting him to the Saudi Professional League.

Bruno has turned down Saudi Arabia’s financial temptations several times over the last two years, including three offers this summer. However, this hasn’t stopped speculation that he might cash in in the Middle East after this season ends. Insiders insist these claims are baseless, stating Bruno intends to stay at Manchester United and help Rúben Amorim revive the Red Devils.
In response, Bruno said he is very happy and satisfied at Manchester United but cannot predict the future. When explaining why he rejected Saudi Arabia’s offers this summer, he stated: “I never completely ruled out going to Saudi Arabia because of the World Cup. I’ve never had any other plans; I want to stay at Manchester United, and the club wants me to stay. It’s as simple as that.”
Regarding whether he will reconsider a transfer next summer, Bruno admits football can change at any moment. “That’s unimaginable right now; no one has even discussed it with me,” he said. “I like to enjoy every moment, and for me, the most important thing now is to represent Portugal. Although we want to qualify for the World Cup as soon as possible, we must take it game by game. Our main goal is to win every match, and that’s what we focus on. Because we know the dream of the World Cup always exists. I’ve dreamed of lifting the World Cup since I was a child; it’s not just my dream but every Portuguese person’s. First, we must give our all and do everything possible to make that dream come true.”
Portugal will face Ireland and Hungary during this international break. Bruno said, “If I can play on Saturday, I’ll feel incredibly proud. But I’m still not sure if I’ll start, let alone whether I’ll still be at Manchester United a year from now. I’m very satisfied with my current situation; otherwise, I would have left already. But these rumors don’t affect my mood at all.”

Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that Saudi Arabia has been persistently pushing for Bruno’s transfer and is ready to offer him a lucrative contract once he decides to leave Manchester United. According to rumors, Bruno could earn a tax-free weekly wage of £700,000!
“Saudi Arabia wanted Bruno Fernandes three years ago, two years ago, and one year ago, but he signed a new contract with Manchester United. The same happened this summer,” Romano explained. “So, for a long time—three years now—Saudi has consistently pursued Bruno. They like him a lot. Therefore, if Bruno decides to open the door to Saudi Arabia, they are prepared to offer him a huge salary and bring him to the Saudi Professional League.”
Regarding Bruno’s stance, Romano stated: “At the moment, I can guarantee Bruno has not made any decision. He has promised not to sign any contract with Saudi Arabia or any other country. He is fully focused on Manchester United, dedicated to making history with the club, and committed to helping the team right now. So, we will see what happens in the future. But currently, I must deny any agreement on a transfer. Saudi interest remains, and we will gradually observe what Bruno decides to do next. The situation is clear now: he is fully concentrated on Manchester United.”
After the arrivals of Cunha, Mbemba, and Sheshko, to make room in the 3-4-3 formation, Bruno had to adjust his role by playing deeper. However, his performance has not met expectations, with some even believing that he is now a burden to the team.

Especially after missing two penalties, Bruno has failed six penalties since joining Manchester United—the highest number in the Premier League during this period. As the club’s primary penalty taker, Bruno has pledged to “work harder on learning,” improve his technique, and ensure such mistakes do not happen again.
