This morning, October 11 (local time), the Vietnam U23 team paid a visit and engaged with the Vietnamese Embassy in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) during their training camp and friendly matches in Abu Dhabi.
Under the guidance of Acting Head Coach Đinh Hồng Vinh, the team was warmly received by Ambassador Nguyễn Thanh Diệp and the embassy staff in a friendly and welcoming environment.
At the meeting, Coach Đinh Hồng Vinh, representing the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and the entire squad, extended thanks to the Vietnamese Embassy in the UAE, especially to Ambassador Nguyễn Thanh Diệp personally, for their attention, support, and encouragement since the team arrived for training in the UAE.

Coach Đinh Hồng Vinh also discussed with the Ambassador the team’s preparations and development plans, focusing on two major upcoming events: SEA Games 33 and the 2026 AFC U23 Championship.
He highlighted that with funding from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vietnam Sports Administration, and the collaboration of the VFF, the team has followed a well-organized preparation path starting early, with multiple high-quality international training sessions and matches since September 2024.
"The entire team will strive to fully accomplish the set objectives and bring pride to Vietnamese football supporters," affirmed Coach Đinh Hồng Vinh.
Ambassador Nguyễn Thanh Diệp expressed his pleasure in welcoming the Vietnam U23 team to the UAE and congratulated the squad on their encouraging progress recently. The Ambassador is confident that with government attention, VFF’s investment, and strong fan support both domestically and abroad, Vietnam’s young footballers will continue to develop, become competitive on the continental stage, and pursue even greater ambitions in the future — aiming to participate in the World Cup.
Ambassador Nguyễn Thanh Diệp also wished the team success in completing their training in the UAE, achieving the desired results, and preparing solidly for upcoming tasks.
This afternoon, the Vietnam U23 team will resume training to prepare for the second friendly match against U23 Qatar, which will take place at 7:00 PM local time (10:00 PM Vietnam time) on October 13 at 321Sports Stadium, Abu Dhabi.
