U23 Vietnam receives a significant boost ahead of the rematch against Qatar

On the morning of October 11 local time, the U23 Vietnam team visited and interacted with the Vietnamese Embassy in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as part of their training camp and friendly matches in Abu Dhabi.

The team, led by acting head coach Dinh Hong Vinh, was warmly welcomed by Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Diep along with the embassy staff in a friendly and cordial atmosphere.

During the meeting, Coach Dinh Hong Vinh, on behalf of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and the entire team, expressed gratitude to the Vietnamese Embassy in the UAE, especially Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Diep, for their care, support, and encouragement since the team arrived in the UAE for training.

Coach Dinh Hong Vinh also shared with the Ambassador about the team's preparation and development plans focusing on two key upcoming events: the 33rd SEA Games and the 2026 AFC U23 Championship. He emphasized that with investment from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vietnam Sports Administration, and the support of the VFF, the team has followed a well-structured preparation schedule from early on, including several high-quality international training camps and matches starting from September 2024. “The entire team will give their utmost effort to successfully achieve the set goals and bring pride to Vietnamese football fans,” Coach Dinh Hong Vinh affirmed.

Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Diep expressed his happiness in welcoming the U23 Vietnam team to the UAE and congratulated the team on their encouraging progress recently. He believes that with the attention and investment from the government, the VFF, and strong support from fans both domestically and abroad, Vietnam’s young players will continue to mature, gain the capability to compete at the continental level, and aim for even greater goals in the future — including qualifying for the World Cup.
