Kylian Mbappe has brought encouraging news to Real Madrid ahead of their home game versus Barcelona in La Liga.
According to journalist Arancha Rodriguez, Kylian Mbappe has returned to Madrid and undergone medical examinations, which revealed that his injury is not serious. The 26-year-old star is expected to resume training with the team as early as next week, providing great relief for Real Madrid.
Previously, Mbappe caused concern among the Royal fans when he left the field in the final minutes of the France vs. Azerbaijan World Cup 2026 qualifier. The forward, born in 1998, had previously suffered an ankle injury during the La Liga match against Villarreal, and although he had recovered enough to play for the national team, the injury reoccurred in this match.
Shortly after, the French Football Federation confirmed that Mbappe had aggravated his ankle injury and would leave the national team camp to return to Real Madrid for treatment. This news raised many concerns, especially with the El Clasico approaching.
However, the positive medical results have given hope to Real Madrid. Mbappe is currently the main attacking star of the "Los Blancos," having scored more than half of the club’s goals across all competitions this season.
To date, the former PSG striker has netted 14 goals for Los Blancos and continues to show impressive form, scoring for the French national team before leaving the pitch due to injury.
The key question now is whether Mbappe will be able to return in time for the match against Getafe right after the international break, or if coach Xabi Alonso will choose to be cautious and wait for him to fully recover before featuring him in matches against Juventus prior to the big showdown with Barcelona.
If Mbappe’s injury turns out to be more serious than initially assessed, Real Madrid could face a crisis as they enter a challenging period without their brightest attacking star.
