Two opponents of Vietnam’s U17 women’s team have arrived in Ho Chi Minh City.

The U17 women’s squads from Guam and Hong Kong (China) are present in Ho Chi Minh City, prepared for the 2026 AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup qualification – Group D.

On the morning of October 11, the Guam U17 women’s team arrived in Ho Chi Minh City, officially starting their journey in the 2026 AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers – Group D. They are also the first opponent for Vietnam’s U17 women’s team in the opening match scheduled for 7:30 PM on October 13 at Go Dau Stadium (Binh Duong).

Later that evening, the Hong Kong (China) U17 women’s team also landed in Ho Chi Minh City after a long flight. According to the schedule, Hong Kong (China) will face Guam in the second round (October 15), followed by the host Vietnam in the final round (October 17).

Tomorrow (October 12), the organizers will hold a technical meeting and a pre-qualification press conference, attended by representatives from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), local organizers, participating teams, and match officials.

The 2026 AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers – Group D will take place from October 13 to 17 at Go Dau Stadium (Binh Duong), featuring three teams: Vietnam, Guam, and Hong Kong (China). The teams will compete in a single round-robin format, with the top team earning a spot in the final tournament.

Currently, the Vietnam Football Federation and local organizers have completed all preparations, ensuring facilities, security, logistics, and media arrangements are in place to provide the teams with the best possible environment for competition and accommodation.

The qualifiers feature 27 teams divided into 8 groups: three groups of four teams and five groups of three teams. The eight group winners will join four teams already qualified for the final tournament of the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2025 — North Korea, Japan, South Korea, and China — who have received automatic entry.

Following the draw, Vietnam’s U17 women’s team was placed in a three-team group, specifically Group D, alongside Hong Kong (China) and Guam. With the advantage of hosting the tournament at Binh Duong Stadium (Ho Chi Minh City), Vietnam’s U17 women’s team is expected to easily advance to the final tournament.
