Manchester United is set to secure a €30 million transfer fee next summer! Barcelona is determined to make Rashford’s move permanent, pretending uncertainty to lower the price.

British media reveal that Manchester United is likely to secure another €30 million transfer fee next summer as Barcelona is extremely happy with Rashford’s loan spell and has made up its mind to turn the loan into a permanent transfer. Once finalized, together with Napoli’s confirmed buyout of striker Højlund, the Red Devils stand to gain a total of €70 million in revenue.

Since Rashford joined Barcelona, the club has been very pleased with both his performance and attitude. Although he was late to training once, it was only by two minutes and not a big issue. Rashford has appeared 10 times so far, scoring 3 goals and providing 5 assists, making him the team’s top assister. This marks a shift from his previously selfish style at Manchester United, which has delighted coach Hans Flick.

Initially, Barcelona was concerned that Manchester United might be willing to loan Rashford for free, suspecting there might be some problem with the player. However, developments in recent months have eased their doubts. Additionally, after seeing the performances of players like Højlund and McTominay who left Manchester United, Barcelona believes the root cause might lie with Manchester United itself.

A source stated: "Barcelona’s signing of Marcus (Rashford) initially faced challenges due to the club’s financial situation. They also wondered why Manchester United was so eager to offload such a talented player and had no intention of keeping him. When something good falls from the sky, there’s always a hidden reason. Marcus’s brother, Dwayne Maynard, convinced them, assuring they wouldn’t face any trouble from Marcus at Barcelona. Now, Barcelona is pleasantly surprised they managed to sign Marcus at such a low cost.”

It is reported that Rashford’s buyout fee is only €30 million, with an additional €5 million in potential bonuses, and Manchester United may also receive a share from any future transfers. Barcelona’s coach Flick confirmed he actively pushed for Rashford’s signing: “In the summer, I told Deco: ‘Please bring me the Rashford I want; we really need a player like him.’”

According to Mundo Deportivo, to give Rashford more playing time, Flick has even considered deploying him more as a number 9, so that after Rafinha and Yamal recover from injury, the 27-year-old England international wouldn’t have to remain a long-term substitute. During his loan at Aston Villa in the second half of last season, Emery frequently played Rashford as a striker, where he contributed 4 goals and 5 assists.

“For me, playing as a number 9 has become increasingly comfortable and natural,” Rashford himself said. “Some detailed moves, like how to better capitalize on chances in front of goal, have become much easier for me now. Because you’re always positioned in front of the goal, you’re constantly a threat.”

However, Barcelona will not publicly reveal their eagerness to buy Rashford outright, aiming to further reduce the transfer fee. They might even try to negotiate another loan for Rashford in the 2026/27 season, using this season’s signing of Antony from Real Betis as a model. Therefore, Manchester United needs to hold firm and not lower the price for this brilliant English star any further.

The Manchester Evening News confirmed that despite interest from other well-known clubs, Rashford only dreams of joining Barcelona. He is focused on improving his performance in hopes of securing a permanent move to Barcelona in next summer’s transfer window, fulfilling his dream.

Rashford’s performances at Barcelona have also helped him regain a spot in the England squad. He is currently with Tuchel’s national team preparing for the match against Latvia. A video released by the FA shows him winning a shooting challenge against Declan Rice, Eberechi Eze, and Anthony Gordon, suggesting that he has indeed made progress.
