Watching his player Đoàn Văn Hậu come back to the pitch, coach Mano Polking expressed great joy.
As previously reported, on October 11th, defender Đoàn Văn Hậu officially returned to the field after more than two years away. Coach Polking brought him on in the final minutes of a friendly match against Hà Nội FC, giving him a chance to feel the pace of real competition after a long recovery period.
Văn Hậu’s comeback is a positive sign for the club specifically and Vietnamese football and the national team in general. Witnessing his return, coach Mano Polking happily shared after the match: "It’s hard to say exactly when Văn Hậu will return to play. The only thing I can say is that I’m very happy to see him back. I have been a fan of Văn Hậu for a long time," Polking stated.
Since September 2023, Văn Hậu had to stay away from the field due to an Achilles tendon injury, a complicated injury requiring a long recovery time. During that period, he frequently traveled to Singapore and South Korea for intensive treatment combined with a strict rehabilitation regimen. His perseverance, effort, and professional attitude helped him overcome the toughest phase of his career.
Đoàn Văn Hậu’s comeback holds great significance for Công An Hà Nội in their quest to win the V-League title. For the Vietnamese national team, it also boosts the defense, especially for the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.
However, according to the German-Brazilian strategist, CAHN club will not take risks using Văn Hậu and will wait until he is fully fit: "He is a wonderful player and will greatly help the team if he is in top condition. However, we won’t take risks; instead, we will develop a cautious training plan to monitor his body’s adaptability."
Notably, on the day Văn Hậu returned, Vietnamese football received another piece of good news: striker Nguyễn Xuân Sơn also officially made his comeback after 10 months away from the field. He entered the game in the final minutes of the second half in the match between Nam Định and PVF Youth.
