Lionel Messi seems never to know the meaning of “slowing down.” The Argentine superstar continues his brilliant form in the 2025 MLS season, scoring his 25th and 26th goals in the match between Inter Miami and Atlanta United on Sunday morning (October 12, 2025, Vietnam time).

In this game, Inter Miami secured a convincing 4-0 victory. The other two goals for the DRV PNK Stadium hosts were scored by Luis Suarez and Jordi Alba. With this brace, Messi took the lead in the MLS Golden Boot race, surpassing Denis Bouanga, who has been in fiery form for LAFC.

Even more impressively, Messi set a new MLS record during the bright night in Fort Lauderdale. His brace against Atlanta made him the first player in league history to have nine matches with two or more goals in a single season.

Although Inter Miami is still striving to win the MLS Cup since Messi and a star-studded lineup arrived in South Florida, the Argentine superstar seems to face no obstacles in “dominating” this league. Last season, Messi was awarded the MLS Most Valuable Player of the season.
