Jude Bellingham, last season’s shining star for Real Madrid, has unexpectedly been removed from the club’s official 2026 match schedule. This decision has caused a stir given his previous role as a key player at Bernabeu.
The 2025/26 season is becoming challenging for Jude Bellingham as the English star has been surprisingly excluded from Real Madrid’s official 2026 fixture list—a seemingly minor detail that has sparked many questions among fans.
According to The Sun, in the new calendar edition, Real Madrid favors young talents like Arda Guler and Dean Huijsen, alongside veteran mainstays such as Carvajal and Militao, while Bellingham is completely absent. Just a year ago, he was the club’s face, featured in numerous promotional materials. This “omission” is seen as a sign that the English midfielder’s status at Bernabeu is weakening.
After undergoing shoulder surgery earlier this year, Bellingham returned to play in September but has yet to regain his peak form. In his last three matches, he started only once in a 2-5 loss to Atletico Madrid and was on the bench for the other two games. Although coach Xabi Alonso praises Bellingham’s spirit and adaptability, he seems to prefer maintaining stability in midfield with Camavinga, Valverde, and Tchouameni performing well.
Not only facing difficulties at the club, Bellingham was also left out of England’s squad for the October call-up by coach Thomas Tuchel, citing reasons of “insufficient fitness and match rhythm.” This marks a tough period for the player once regarded as England’s “precious gem” since joining Real Madrid.
Notably, fellow newcomer and countryman Trent Alexander-Arnold is also missing from this year’s calendar edition. He joined Real Madrid last summer but suffered a severe hamstring injury during his Champions League debut, forcing a long-term absence.
Nevertheless, Real Madrid’s management remains confident in both English stars. The club hopes they will recover soon, regain their form, and contribute during the crucial stages of the season.
For Bellingham, the immediate goal is to rediscover his touch, reclaim a starting position, and reaffirm his quality—factors that will determine his future at Real Madrid and his chances of returning to the England squad ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
