Hoàng Đức reveals his injury status just before the rematch against Nepal

Hoàng Đức shared some notable insights during the training session ahead of the rematch with Nepal on October 14.

On the afternoon of October 12, the Vietnam national team continued training to prepare for the rematch against Nepal in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers. After missing a day, midfielder Nguyễn Hoàng Đức returned to training with his teammates.

Speaking to the media, Hoàng Đức revealed that he had a mild injury:"Yesterday I was in pain, so I couldn’t train with the team. Today, I am back. Regarding my recovery, I need to train with the guys to assess the intensity. I want to know exactly how much my body has recovered."

Regarding the 3-1 victory on the evening of October 9, the Ninh Bình player commented: "The Vietnam team had a tough win, but that’s football. Afterwards, the whole team reviewed the match to prepare for the second leg at Thống Nhất Stadium. We are actively preparing and hope the match on October 14 will be exciting."

In the first leg, Hoàng Đức did not stand out much but still provided an assist for Văn Vĩ to seal the 3-1 win. According to Hoàng Đức, the entire team made great efforts in the second half:

"In the first leg, the Vietnam team had a numerical advantage at the end of the first half but couldn’t immediately score another goal. It wasn’t until the middle of the second half that we scored to make it 2-1. The whole team learned from that experience."

When asked about the young players group, the Vietnam midfielder said: "In this training camp, coach Kim Sang Sik called up many U23 Vietnamese players. This is positive, allowing young players to prepare for SEA Games 33 later this year. Additionally, the team benefits from good competition between the old and new players.

"I am very sorry that Quang Hải is not with the Vietnam team this time. Hopefully, he will recover and return to the team next time.", Hoàng Đức unexpectedly mentioned Quang Hải.

In this training session, central defender Bùi Tiến Dũng continued to be absent due to incomplete recovery from injury. It is highly likely he will miss the upcoming rematch at 7:30 PM on October 14 at Thống Nhất Stadium.
