Mbappe points out the best player at Real Madrid

Kylian Mbappe talked about his strong bond with Cristiano Ronaldo and said he frequently gets precious guidance from the Portuguese legend.

After completing the long-anticipated transfer to Real Madrid in June 2024, Mbappe immediately expressed his joy on social media. In a viral Instagram post, the 26-year-old forward shared several photos, including one of him with a young Cristiano Ronaldo. Shortly after, the Portuguese star commented: “Looking forward to seeing you shine at Bernabeu.”

Recently, Mbappe revealed that he and Ronaldo keep in regular contact and admitted feeling fortunate to have the chance to learn from his childhood idol.

During an interview on the program Universo Valdano, Mbappe stated: “Cristiano has always been a role model and a great example for me.

I’m truly lucky to be able to talk with him. Ronaldo often gives me advice and is always ready to support me. He is number one, the greatest icon in Real Madrid’s history. Even now, people still dream about Cristiano. He’s the best, but I want to carve out my own path, and I believe it will be historically significant both for myself and Real Madrid. I want to achieve greatness alongside Real.”

Ronaldo is currently the top scorer in Real Madrid’s history with 450 goals, and the Portuguese superstar has won numerous major titles with Los Blancos, including four Champions League trophies and four Ballon d’Or awards.

Mbappe’s ambition to reach that level is further strengthened by his brilliant start to the 2025/26 season. The French striker has scored 14 goals in 10 matches across all competitions, including five goals in just two Champions League games. In La Liga, the French star leads the scoring charts with nine goals, playing a key role in helping coach Xabi Alonso’s team rise to the top of the table, two points ahead of Barcelona after eight rounds.

That impressive form has also continued with the French national team during international fixtures. The Les Bleus captain scored again in the 3-0 victory over Azerbaijan in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, extending his scoring streak for both club and country to 10 consecutive matches.

Since joining Bernabeu, the relationship between Mbappe and Vinicius has been widely discussed, with many questioning whether two players who prefer playing on the left wing can coexist harmoniously in the same lineup.

When asked about Vinicius, the 2018 World Cup winner said: “Having two famous players on the same team is always an interesting topic for the media. But in reality, I have a very good relationship with Vinicius. Things are even better this season because we understand each other more.”

Currently, Mbappe has returned to Real after suffering an injury in the latest match with the French national team. The 1998-born player is preparing for an important phase with the Royal Club, aiming for success in his second season in Spain’s top league.
