Luis Suarez has just reached a brilliant milestone in his career by scoring 600 goals for both club and country.

Suarez’s 600th goal came in Inter Miami’s commanding 4-0 victory over Atlanta United, where he struck a stunning volley from the edge of the box that electrified the crowd. To date, Suarez has netted 42 goals in 82 appearances for the American club, averaging one goal every 156 minutes—a remarkable rate for a 38-year-old striker.

According to RSSSF statistics, Suarez has surpassed many renowned names such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Karim Benzema, Hugo Sanchez, Zico, and Alfredo Di Stefano, climbing to 27th place on the list of the highest goal scorers in football history.

If he continues playing beyond the 2025 season, Suarez has a strong chance to overtake Frederick Roberts, Gyula Zsengeller, and Fernando Peyroteo, who are ranked just above him.

Among current players, only three have scored more goals than Suarez: Robert Lewandowski, Lionel Messi, and Cristiano Ronaldo. Lewandowski (733 goals) is currently 14th all-time, Messi (946 goals) ranks 5th, while Ronaldo holds 2nd place and continues to add to his tally, trailing only the top scorer Erwin Helmchen (989 goals). So far, the Portuguese superstar has scored 946 official goals for club and country, just 54 goals short of the 1000-goal milestone.

According to various sources, German striker Erwin Helmchen is still recognized as the top goal scorer in history with 989 goals, although most of these were scored in lower-tier leagues. Therefore, some international football organizations do not officially acknowledge him as the outright leader. Additionally, legends like Pele, Josef Bican, and Romario have been credited with surpassing 1000 goals, but those counts include friendly and unofficial matches.
