The Vietnam U17 women's team opened their campaign impressively in Group D of the 2026 AFC U17 Women's Asian Cup qualifiers by beating Guam U17 with a commanding 5-0 scoreline. Nguyễn Thị Minh Ánh was the star of the match, scoring a hat-trick and providing a classy assist, establishing herself as a promising talent in Vietnamese women's football.

This was not just a convincing first win but also sparked new hope for the Vietnam U17 women's team as coach Akira Okiyama’s players showcased a united, fast-paced, and inspired style of play.
