Uzbekistan’s late attacking efforts earned them a consolation goal in the 81st minute. Ruslanbek Jiyanov exploited a rare gap inside the penalty area and struck a sharp right-footed shot past the Uruguay goalkeeper, narrowing the score to 1-2. This was Uzbekistan’s first goal after several matches without scoring against strong opponents.

Nonetheless, that was all the home team could manage. In the final minutes, they had chances to equalize but failed to convert them. The match ended with a deserved 2-1 win for Uruguay, a team that demonstrated discipline, speed, and efficiency in both attack and defense.
