Striker Nguyễn Xuân Son continues to express his longing for the Vietnam national team right after Coach Kim Sang Sik's squad defeated Nepal on the evening of October 14th.
On his personal Facebook page, striker Nguyễn Xuân Son posted a photo wearing the Vietnam national team jersey along with the caption: "The dream goes on."On the night of October 14th, Xuân Son also watched and cheered for Coach Kim Sang Sik’s team through the television screen.
The post from the 1997-born player quickly attracted significant attention from Vietnamese football fans. In the comments, supporters eagerly wished to see Xuân Son return to play in the red jersey soon. This action also shows his strong desire to make a football comeback and rejoin the Vietnam national team.
After nearly 10 months of injury, Xuân Son officially returned in a friendly match between Nam Định Club and PVF-CAND Youth on October 11th. He was subbed in by Coach Vũ Hồng Việt in the second half and played normally.
Although it is only the initial step in his comeback process, Xuân Son’s ability to play normally is a very positive sign for both Nam Định Club and the Vietnam national team moving forward. His presence on the field brings great confidence to fans as the Nam Định team aims to maintain stable performance this season. Meanwhile, for the Vietnam national team, Xuân Son is expected to participate in the rematch against Malaysia in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers next March.
Although his return is very good news, Xuân Son still needs to be very cautious to ensure no new issues arise. He will continue to stay off the field for a while and keep training with his teammates to gradually regain his ball skills and fitness.
