Dang Van Lam's Reaction When Trung Kien Started as Goalkeeper for Vietnam National Team

Goalkeeper Dang Van Lam sent his best wishes to Tran Trung Kien on his debut as the starting goalkeeper for Vietnam.

On the evening of October 14th, goalkeeper Tran Trung Kien made his debut for the Vietnam national team, marking a significant milestone in his career. After the match, the 2003-born player shared heartfelt thoughts about this special occasion. On his personal page, Trung Kien wrote: "First time reaching my dream" along with photos from the match on October 14th.

Trung Kien also received congratulations from many teammates such as Duy Manh, Dinh Bac, Van Khang, Thanh Nhan, Chau Ngoc Quang... and most notably encouragement from goalkeeper Dang Van Lam. Under Trung Kien’s post, the Russian-Vietnamese goalkeeper commented: "Congratulations to you."

In this match, coach Kim Sang Sik trusted Trung Kien and assigned him to start instead of Dang Van Lam. The HAGL player played the full 90 minutes, making several crucial saves in the second half, contributing significantly to the team’s victory.

Over the past two years, Trung Kien has made remarkable progress. He became a key figure in HAGL’s goal from his first season as a starter. This season, Trung Kien continues to perform consistently with many outstanding saves.

At the national team level, it is hard to replace the 1.91m tall star in the U23 Vietnam goal at the moment. In the last two tournaments, the U23 Southeast Asia Championship and the U23 Asian qualifiers, Trung Kien played impressively, helping the team win the championship and qualify for the final round. Notably, he kept a clean sheet during the qualifiers for the red-shirted team.

An impressive debut with the national team will be a huge morale boost for the HAGL goalkeeper in upcoming journeys, including the 33rd SEA Games and the U23 Asian Championship final with the U23 Vietnam team.
