Vietnam national team and the 'problem' of saving themselves

Two back-to-back wins against Nepal have granted the Vietnam team a perfect 6 points, keeping them firmly in second place in Group F of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers. Yet, judging by the performance under Coach Kim Sang Sik, supporters remain uneasy as the victories were not convincingly achieved.

The looming suspension penalty from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) against Malaysia following the incident in June makes the group’s dynamics even more unpredictable.

However, instead of waiting for external factors to change, Vietnam must take charge of their own fate. Coach Kim Sang Sik and his players must improve many aspects, both in personnel and tactics.
