Just back from the Asian Cup, Vietnam national team defender is eager to work with coach Harry Kewell.

Defender Phạm Xuân Mạnh believes that head coach Harry Kewell will introduce a new dynamic to Hanoi FC in the upcoming stage of the V-League.

On the afternoon of October 15, Hanoi FC continued training to prepare for their home match against Ninh Binh at Hang Day Stadium, the highlight of round 7 in the 2025/26 V-League season. Speaking to the media, defender Phạm Xuân Mạnh shared:

“Ninh Binh is a strong team, currently leading the table and in great form. They are a well-organized unit, with defenders and forwards moving fluidly and emphasizing teamwork. This will be a tough challenge for us. However, we trust that coach Harry Kewell will bring fresh energy, and the players are eager and determined to secure a victory.”

“The whole team is highly focused on quickly adapting to Coach Kewell’s tactics. I believe Coach Kewell will bring a new breath of fresh air, boosting the team’s spirit and creating a positive atmosphere so that the players can step onto the field feeling relaxed and confident,” the Nghệ An-born player reaffirmed the role of the new Australian head coach.

Xuân Mạnh will have his first opportunity to work with Coach Harry Kewell later than his teammates because he just returned from the Vietnam national team. The 1996-born player revealed his great excitement to work with the new coach:

“I am very eager to work with the new coach. Today was just a recovery session; tomorrow I will train with the team. I look forward to new things from the coach so I can adapt as quickly and well as possible, and help the whole team achieve many wins.”

The match between Hanoi FC and Ninh Binh will take place at 19:15 on October 18 at Hang Day Stadium. Ahead of this "clash," the capital team played a friendly against CAHN and won decisively 6-1. This was also the first victory for the new Australian coach with the purple-shirted team.
