German striker Kai Havertz has surprised Arsenal's medical staff with a much quicker knee injury recovery than anticipated, creating a chance for the Gunner’s early comeback.
According to Hand of Arsenal, Havertz is currently in the final phase of rehabilitation following knee surgery less than two months ago. The 26-year-old is said to have “amazed” Arsenal’s doctors and coaches with his professional attitude, strict recovery regimen, and remarkable healing speed.
Insider sources reveal: “Kai Havertz has once again impressed the Arsenal team with his recovery approach. He is in the last stage and could return sooner than initially planned.”
Havertz’s knee injury occurred during the opening match of the new Premier League season between Arsenal and Manchester United. Initially, the medical staff hoped he could recover without surgery, but circumstances forced them to intervene. Since then, Havertz has been completely absent from the squad, causing head coach Mikel Arteta significant challenges in maintaining attacking strength.
While Havertz has been sidelined, Arsenal has suffered several key player absences, including Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka, Piero Hincapie, and Noni Madueke. The German player’s imminent return is seen as a timely “boost” for the North London club during a congested fixture period.
Notably, Havertz’s comeback may directly impact Viktor Gyokeres’ position — the Swedish striker currently playing as the number 9 in Arteta’s system. Although Gyokeres has scored three goals and maintained consistent form, Arteta originally planned for Havertz to start as the central forward, at least in the early part of the season.
If he returns early, the German is likely to be given a starting role, potentially shifting Gyokeres to a supporting or rotational position in the attack. However, experts are excited about the possibility of both forwards playing together. With Havertz’s technique and mobility, Arsenal could adopt a more flexible attacking formation, blending Gyokeres’ power with the creativity of the former Chelsea star.
Havertz joined Arsenal in summer 2023 and, despite initial doubts, has proven his value by being versatile—able to play as a striker, attacking midfielder, or second striker. His return promises to strengthen squad depth and offer Arteta more tactical options in the Premier League title race.
If all goes well, Kai Havertz could make his comeback within the next few weeks, marking a major boost for Arsenal as they strive to regain top form during the most demanding phase of the season.
