Acting president of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mahadi, confirmed that FAM has acknowledged Nepal’s complaint submitted to FIFA.
According to New Straits Times, the Football Association of Malaysia is aware that the Football Association of Nepal has lodged a complaint with FIFA concerning the match between the two teams in March 2026. FAM affirmed they are not worried about this issue:
"This situation is exactly the same as with the Vietnam national team. We don’t need to overthink Nepal’s complaint; what matters now is the outcome of the appeal," NST quoted Acting President of the Football Association of Malaysia, Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mahadi, during the AFC annual awards ceremony.
"Everything Nepal raised concerns those 7 players. Therefore, whether we win or lose the appeal, the impact will be the same for both matches – against Vietnam and Nepal. Now we just await the final decision," he added.
Additionally, the Acting President of FAM emphasized that the association is not taking this matter lightly. Evidence of this is their focus on appealing to FIFA:
"We are not ignoring the complaint, but we are fully concentrating on the appeal. Let’s wait for the decision; that is the crucial thing right now. If we win the appeal, the issues in both matches will be automatically resolved,"he said.
