The VFF President attends the AFC Executive Committee meeting

The 7th session of the AFC Executive Committee took place in Saudi Arabia.

On October 15th, in Riyadh (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia), the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) convened its 7th Executive Committee meeting. The meeting was held just before the AFC Awards Riyadh 2025 ceremony.

Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) President Trần Quốc Tuấn attended as an AFC Standing Committee member, Chairman of the AFC Competitions Committee, and member of the Asian Cup Organizing Committee for the 2023–2027 term.

In his opening remarks, AFC President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa expressed deep gratitude to the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) for their warm hospitality and meticulous organization, highlighting Saudi Arabia’s proactive role in hosting several key AFC events last week, including the Dream Asia Foundation Conference, technical committee meetings, and the upcoming meeting of Presidents and General Secretaries of AFC member and regional federations.

During the meeting, President Shaikh Salman acknowledged Asia’s recent football achievements, congratulating Qatar and Saudi Arabia as the first two Asian teams to qualify for the FIFA World Cup 2026 after the AFC Asian Qualifiers™ – Road to 26 playoff group stage concluded. He also praised the Al Hilal SF club.

Additionally, the AFC President expressed sympathy and support for the Nepal Football Association (ANFA) and the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) amid their current challenges, calling on member federations to share and promote solidarity, resilience, and hope through football.

The AFC also announced the signing of a coaching cooperation agreement with UEFA, aimed at recognizing equivalent coaching licenses, enhancing knowledge sharing, and exchanging experiences between the two federations. This agreement is effective until 2029 and is the result of a two-year consultation process.
