Đỗ Hoàng Hên caught the eye wearing traditional áo dài during his Vietnamese citizenship ceremony.
On the morning of October 17th at the Hanoi Department of Justice, midfielder Đỗ Hoàng Hên (also known as Hendrio Araujo Da Silva) officially received his Vietnamese citizenship certificate. The Hanoi FC player has thus become an official citizen of Vietnam after a long wait.
On this important day, the midfielder stood out in a white traditional áo dài, adorned with a Vietnamese flag on the chest. The Brazilian-born player appeared radiant, cheerful, and full of happiness. At the ceremony, Đỗ Hoàng Hên joined officials in the flag-raising and national anthem before formally receiving his Vietnamese citizenship certificate.
After receiving the certificate, midfielder Hoàng Hên shared emotional words in Vietnamese: "I am very happy, proud, and deeply grateful! I have officially become a Vietnamese citizen. I love the country and the people of Vietnam. I am eager to contribute to Vietnamese football. I will strive even harder to deserve everyone’s trust and give my best for Hanoi Football Club as well as Vietnamese football.”
Đỗ Hoàng Hên is one of the best foreign players in the V-League in recent years, known for his technical skills, modern thinking, and high ability to create breakthroughs. According to plans, Đỗ will make his debut as a domestic player when Hanoi hosts Ninh Bình in the 7th round of the 2025/26 V-League on October 18th. This promises to be a special debut for the player who just became a “Vietnamese” wearing the capital club’s jersey.
