Hà Nội FC lost 1-2 to Ninh Bình in the Round 7 match of the 2025/26 V-League due to wasted chances and bad luck with the ball hitting the crossbar and posts three times.
After the match, new head coach Harry Kewell admitted: "Today we played beautiful football, but unfortunately conceded two goals from set pieces, which cost us dearly.
When we return to training, we will have to work even harder, especially on defending set pieces. We need to learn to respond better and stay more focused during crucial moments.

Ninh Bình is a very straightforward team with excellent forwards. They only needed two chances from set pieces and took full advantage of them. This shows their efficiency. Overall, I think we did not play badly. I am satisfied because the players showed the spirit and determination I want.
Losing always hurts, but that’s football. We have to get back to training, work harder, and continue improving. I believe with the support of the coaching staff, players, management, and club president, we will soon be on the right path.
This was a tough match. We performed well in many areas and created quite a few chances, but football is about goals and unfortunately, we didn’t score today. When you don’t score, you pay the price, and we lost."
Regarding the debut of naturalized player Đỗ Hoàng Hên, Mr. Harry Kewell said: "Hên played very well and I cannot blame my players. They played with the spirit and style we aim for. They tried to play dedicated football, although today it didn’t bring the expected result. This was also Hên’s first match after a long break, so I have to be cautious."
In Round 8 of the LPBank V-League 2025/26 on October 25, coach Harry Kewell’s team will travel to face Becamex TPHCM at Gò Đậu Stadium.
