It was revealed that Manchester United wanted to buy a new core for 17 million! Amrabat was bought at half price, and Ten Hag kept his life-saver

Italy transfer expert Fabrizio · Romano says Manchester United are attacking the transfer market on all sides, not just focusing on one target, but several! Among them, Colombia Goal.com claims that the Red Devils are ready to make an offer of £17 million for Palmeiras midfielder ·Richard Ríos.

Palmeiras are said to have been questioned by Manchester United, with Serie A's AC Milan also expressing concern about the Colombia midfielder. At the recently concluded Copa America, Rios made a great contribution to Colombia's final.

In the Colombia team, James · Rodriguez is the number 10 attacking engine, Luis · Díaz is a wide threat, John · Arias and Daniel · Muñoz also play an important role in attack and defence, but the new core of the midfield is Rios. The player has the ability to keep the ball in tight areas and manage the rhythm of attack and defence.

It is worth mentioning that Rios played futsal as a child, so he had a special level of possession. Born in Begaci, Colombia, in June 2000, he came from a poor family, so he chose to play football in search of getting ahead. In 2018, he was selected for Colombia's under-20 futsal team and attracted the attention of Brazil scouts.

The 18-year-old travelled to Brazil alone with a backpack, but his development at Flamengo was not as good as it could have been. After a loan spell to Mazatlan, Mexico, in the 2021/22 season, he suffered a knee injury and the team opted to reject a $1 million buyout, while Flamengo also decided to terminate his contract. Rios then joined Guarani in the second division, where he became a key player, attracting the interest of Palmeiras through his performances and moving back to the Brazilian league in March 2023.

At Palmeiras, he helped the team win the Rio league, became the tournament dribbling champion and was named for the Colombia national team, making 11 appearances so far, scoring two goals. At the Copa America, the 24-year-old wore the number 6 shirt.

At Manchester United, there is a rumours that the club are looking to buy two new midfield signings this summer, one in the main team and the other in rotation, and Rios may fit into the second category. He's not expensive and certainly willing to accept a substitute status.

United's other option is to buy out Amrabat, who was loaned last season, however, Italy transfer experts Fabrizio · Fabrizio Romano claim that Jim · Sir Ratcliffe's INEOS management team believe the 27-year-old Morocco is too expensive. Manchester United agreed a €25 million buyout clause with Fiorentina in their loan deal, of which €20 million is a fixed amount, and Rajue feels that the price of around €10 million is reasonable.

Fabrizio Romano claims that United will only choose to buy Amrabat on one condition, with Ten Hag still his favourite, but Fiorentina must cut the price similarly or the Reds will look for another option. Amrabat himself was desperate to continue his stay at Manchester United and did not take part in the Purple Lily's pre-season training camp. But if he doesn't make the Reds, he may move to another Premier League club.

Ten Hag has also left a place for Scotland international Scott McTominay in United's midfield plan for the new season, with Wheat, who scored 10 goals last season, a "lifesaver" for the Netherlands. The club rejected offers from Fulham and Galatasaray and will only consider a sale if they receive a £40 million bid.

Ten Hag said: 'I think we have very good players, so other clubs will always be interested in them. If you score 10 goals in a season and you do well in Scotland, it's natural that someone wants to bring you in. We really want to keep Scott [McTominay] because he's a very important player for the team. His contribution last season was evident and if we had a number six he could have played up the front and he was a very interesting player."

The United boss also appreciates Wheat's fighting spirit and hopes the club can do the same: "Manchester United can beat any opponent and we have shown it more than once, against Manchester City, against Liverpool. But we still have a long way to go, that's a fact. We have to be more consistent, and that has to do with having the right winning culture. If the locker room could all be like this...... But it's not just about the dressing room, the standard should be extended to the whole club."
