English forward Harry Kane continued his dominant performance by scoring the opening goal, significantly helping Bayern Munich to a 2-1 victory over Borussia Dortmund in the 7th round of the Bundesliga.
With this goal, Kane officially overtook Erling Haaland to lead the European Golden Shoe race for the 2025–2026 season.
Before the "Der Klassiker" match, Kane and Haaland both had 11 goals in their domestic leagues. But just 22 minutes after kickoff at Allianz Arena, the English star pulled ahead.
From a left corner taken by Joshua Kimmich, Kane found the perfect position and headed in close range to give the "Bavarians" the lead. This was his 12th goal in only 7 Bundesliga games this season – an impressive scoring rate.
English striker Harry Kane continued his destructive form by scoring the opener, playing a crucial role in Bayern Munich’s 2-1 win over Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga’s 7th round.
This goal also held special significance in Kane’s career, marking his 400th club goal. Since joining Bayern, the 32-year-old striker has scored 104 goals in 107 matches – a testament to his consistency and quality. In the Bundesliga, Kane’s scoring rate is even higher, with 74 goals in 70 appearances.
Not only an effective scorer, Kane also contributed creatively in the win over Dortmund. He delivered a long pass that set up the attacking move resulting in Bayern’s second goal.
Following Luis Díaz’s cross, Jobe Bellingham’s clearance unintentionally deflected off Michael Olise’s foot into the net. Meanwhile, Jobe – Jude Bellingham’s younger brother – is still struggling to secure his place at Dortmund.
Dortmund managed to reduce the deficit with a goal from Julian Brandt, but there wasn’t enough time left for a comeback. This victory extended Bayern Munich’s winning streak to seven Bundesliga matches and 11 in all competitions, making them the only team in Europe’s top five leagues to maintain a perfect winning record.
In the next match, Harry Kane and his teammates will continue playing at home at Allianz Arena to host Club Brugge in the third round of the Champions League on the evening of October 22.
The German champions aim to keep their flawless run going, while Kane continues his pursuit of the European Golden Shoe this season.
