Vietnamese-European forward Lee Williams made his debut for Ho Chi Minh City Police FC in the 7th round of the 2025/26 V-League season.
Vietnamese-European forward Lee Williams debuted for Ho Chi Minh City Police FC in the match against Hong Linh Ha Tinh during the 7th round of the 2025/26 V-League. This was the player’s first official match for the police-affiliated club.
Standing at an impressive height of 1.90m with an ideal physique, Lee Williams wears the number 33 jersey for Ho Chi Minh City Police. Before returning to Vietnam, he played in England on loan at Warrington Town (6th division) from Stockport County.
During his time playing in England, Williams appeared 16 times, scoring 3 goals and providing 1 assist. Notably, he was given the chance to play in the English Football League Cup (EFL Cup) with Stockport County in the 2024/2025 season, a memorable milestone for the 18-year-old player.
Returning to Vietnam for the 2025/26 season, Lee Williams signed with Viettel Army FC. However, since the team had already filled its two overseas Vietnamese player slots with Damian Vu Thanh and Kyle Colonna, Williams was likely loaned to Ho Chi Minh City Police to gain experience and develop.
Coach Velizar Popov, who worked closely with Williams briefly at Viettel, highly praised the young talent's potential. “I believe William has great potential to become a star in the V.League. At 18 years old, he has plenty of time to learn and grow,” the Viettel strategist shared.
Besides his professional promise, Lee Williams is currently completing procedures to obtain Vietnamese citizenship. If successful, this young player could represent national teams in the future, opening bright prospects for his career in his homeland.
With an ideal physical foundation and training in England’s football environment, Lee Williams is seen as a valuable asset for Vietnamese football. His debut with Ho Chi Minh City Police is just the beginning, promising a long journey ahead for this eager overseas Vietnamese talent aiming to prove himself domestically.
