Xuan Son has fully recovered and is ready to return to play.

According to Coach Vu Hong Viet, Xuan Son might reappear wearing the Nam Dinh jersey in round 11 of the 2025/26 V-League.

Speaking at the press conference after the loss to Becamex TPHCM, Coach Vu Hong Viet shared positive news about striker Nguyen Xuan Son’s condition. He confirmed that the Vietnamese national team player has completely recovered and set a date for his return to the field:

"Son is now fully recovered, but he needs to train to reach his best physical condition. Currently, Son is working with the fitness coach to achieve peak fitness," Coach Viet revealed.

Coach Vu Hong Viet stated that Xuan Son is very likely to play in round 11 alongside the Nam Dinh team: "In November, during round 11, teams will be allowed to replace and add players. It’s possible that Xuan Son will make his debut in the round 11 match."

In the match on the evening of October 18, Thep Xanh Nam Dinh Club once again disappointed at home by losing 1-2 to Becamex TPHCM, continuing their slide down the standings to 9th place. This was also the third consecutive defeat for the defending champions this season.

However, according to Coach Vu Hong Viet, Xuan Son’s return in the near future will be a strong support to put Nam Dinh back on track: "I believe Son’s comeback is a huge boost for the whole team’s morale. As you know, he is a quality player and very skilled. His return will provide us with better attacking options," Coach Vu Hong Viet commented.

Not only for Nam Dinh, Xuan Son’s comeback is also good news for the Vietnamese national team. Coach Kim Sang Sik may not call him up for the match against Laos on November 18, but he will definitely be included for the rematch against Malaysia next March.

Xuan Son suffered a serious injury during the match between the Vietnam national team and Thailand in the second leg final of the 2024 ASEAN Cup. After surgery, the naturalized striker has actively undergone rehabilitation, allowing him to return as initially planned. Most recently, he was fielded by Nam Dinh’s coaching staff in a friendly against PVF-CAND Youth Club on October 11.
