HAGL lost 0-3 to Hai Phong at Lach Tray Stadium in the 7th round of the LPBank V-League 2025/26, and Vietnam national team goalkeeper Tran Trung Kien was extremely disappointed with this outcome.
In a post-match interview on the evening of October 19, Trung Kien shared: "We are very upset about this heavy defeat.
Conceding 2 goals so rapidly within the first 10 minutes was because our team did not perform well. We must accept the fact that we played poorly. The entire team will have to work hard to focus on the upcoming games."

Having just started for the Vietnam national team in the second leg against Nepal in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers, upon returning to HAGL, Trung Kien must face the harsh reality of competing in the relegation battle.
All three goals that HAGL conceded against Hai Phong came as a result of defensive errors.
After 7 rounds of the 2025/26 V-League, HAGL has yet to win a match. They currently sit at the bottom of the table with 3 points from 3 draws. Hai Phong temporarily rises to 5th place with 11 points.
Coach Le Quang Trai acknowledged: "All three goals originated from losing possession. Hai Phong played very well, pressed aggressively, and we failed to control the ball under intense pressure. They exploited our mistakes and punished us."
He also highlighted that the club’s strategy this season is to give chances to young players, accepting the setbacks as part of their experience-building process.
In round 8, HAGL will return to Pleiku Stadium to host The Cong Viettel.
