Coach Lê Quang Trãi: 'Hải Phòng capitalized on mistakes and punished HAGL'

Coach Lê Quang Trãi admitted that HAGL committed several mistakes and suffered consequences in the game versus Hải Phòng on October 19 night.

In the 7th round of the V-League on October 19, HAGL disappointed greatly by losing 0-3 to Hải Phòng FC, officially dropping to the bottom of the standings with 3 points after 6 matches.

After the match, Coach Lê Quang Trãi confessed that all three goals conceded were due to errors made by his players. He stated:"All three goals originated from losing possession. Hải Phòng organized very well, pressed intensely, and we failed to control the ball under high pressure. They exploited our mistakes and punished us."

Mistakes in the opening minutes led to HAGL conceding two goals in less than five minutes. The players from the Highlands team tried hard afterwards, creating many dangerous chances but their final shots lacked accuracy. In the dying moments, Luiz Antonio scored the third goal to seal the 3-0 victory for the home side.

With consecutive draws and losses, HAGL also faces the unfortunate statistic of having scored only one goal so far this season. However, according to Coach Lê Quang Trãi, the club is willing to accept this trade-off to give young players a chance to play: "The club’s direction this season is to give opportunities to young players, accepting the cost so they can gain experience."

In the next round, a new challenge awaits HAGL as they return home to host Thể Công Viettel FC.
