In the 2025/26 season, a total of 36 European teams participate and compete in a single group, similar to the previous season. Each team will face 8 different opponents, including 4 home and 4 away matches, determined during the draw.

After the group stage ends, the top 8 teams will qualify directly for the Round of 16. Teams ranked from 9th to 24th will enter a two-legged play-off to compete for the remaining 8 knockout stage spots. Meanwhile, teams ranked 25th and below will be eliminated, with no drop to the Europa League as in the previous format.
