The Chinese Football Association revealed the confirmed fixtures for the 2025 Panda Cup, where the host U23 squad will compete with Vietnam, China, and Uzbekistan.
As previously reported, in November 2025, the U23 Vietnam team will participate in an international tournament in China under the football development cooperation memorandum signed directly by the presidents of both federations in August 2025.
The tournament, named Panda Cup 2025, includes four teams: U23 China, U23 Vietnam, U23 Uzbekistan, and U23 South Korea. This event is a crucial opportunity for Coach Kim Sang Sik and his players to refine tactics, improve the squad, and gain experience ahead of the 33rd SEA Games.
Recently, the Chinese Football Association (CFA) also announced the official match schedule for this friendly tournament. Accordingly, U23 Vietnam will face the host China in their opening match at 18:35 Vietnam time on November 12. Then, the team will play against U23 Uzbekistan at 14:30 on November 15. In the final match at 14:30 on November 18, Vietnam will meet South Korea.
Because the tournament coincides with the FIFA international window in November, when the Vietnam senior team prepares for the Asian Cup 2027 qualifiers against Laos, Coach Kim Sang Sik will not be able to directly lead the U23 squad.
It is highly likely that Deputy Head Coach Đinh Hồng Vinh will continue to be entrusted with managing the U23 Vietnam team during this tournament, similar to the recent training camp in October.
