Sky Sports Germany reports that Manchester United are making substantial moves to bring in Paris Saint-Germain's French striker Muani. Sky Sports' Florian Plettenberg says the Red Devils are considering a rent-to-buy but there are other clubs interested as well.

Plettenburg explained: "Manchester United's efforts to sign Muani are getting more concrete! The Red Devils are now determined to do everything possible to secure his transfer in the winter and recently, the club has held very specific talks with his agent, which are expected to be followed by direct talks with PSG. Manchester United are considering a loan deal, preferably with an option to buy. Other clubs that are still competing include Chelsea, Aston Villa, Tottenham, Juventus, AC Milan and more."

The Manchester Evening News reported that Manchester United did not rule out bringing in 26-year-old Muani, a player whose transfer fee was as high as 90 million euros and now has plummeted, is a player that the club can afford. Sir Jim Ratcliffe has confidence in this type of player, as the summer signings of Mazraoui and De Ligt are examples of other teams coming to Old Trafford without success.

However, United boss Amorim seems to prefer to wait until the summer window to buy a new striker, when he has a better chance of bringing in his favourite Dzekereish at Sporting de Portugal. Milan are the favourites to get him, with manager Sergio Conceição responding directly to the transfer rumours: "The management tried to talk to me once or twice about the transfer, but in my opinion it was at the wrong time because there were important matches. I prefer to talk about transfers at the right time, we need to talk about it, but not now. You're going to do everything you can to improve the team and Rashford is a good player like a lot of others, so let's see what happens.'

The possibility of Manchester United trading Marcus Rashford for Napoli winger Kovaratskhelia is no longer in place, with Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claiming that PSG have agreed a five-year contract with him and a £140,000-a-week salary double his current earnings.
