Round 8 of the V-League will see as many as 8 players sidelined because of red cards or reaching 3 yellow cards.
According to the latest announcement from the Organizing Committee, Round 8 of the 2025/26 V-League will have 7 players officially suspended due to red cards or having received 3 yellow cards.
The most notable name is striker Geovane Magno – the leading scorer for Ninh Binh FC – who will miss the away match against PVF-CAND on October 25 after receiving a direct red card in the previous round. Without Geovane, the attacking strength of the ancient capital’s team will certainly be significantly weakened.
Meanwhile, Becamex TPHCM will also be without defender Võ Minh Trọng in the match against Hanoi FC due to accumulating 3 yellow cards.
The matches on October 26 also feature several similar cases. Viettel’s The Cong will lose captain and central defender Bùi Tiến Dũng due to a red card. This remains a major setback for the soldiers' defense in their away game against HAGL.
Ha Tinh will be without defender Mai Sỹ Hoàng, while SLNA will miss Reon Dale Moore due to card suspensions. Notably, SLNA’s opponent, Dong A Thanh Hoa, will also lose central defender Mamadou Mbodji after reaching 3 yellow cards.
In the late match on October 27 between CAHN and CA TPHCM, winger Võ Huy Toàn will be unable to play due to receiving two yellow cards plus an additional penalty. Huy Toàn’s absence forces the city team named after Uncle Ho to make significant adjustments in their wing attack tactics.
The simultaneous suspension of many key players forces teams to carefully plan their tactics and personnel. This is not only a challenge for coaches in rotating their squads but also a reminder about discipline and alertness on the field, especially as the V-League enters the intense phase of the season.
