On the third matchday, a total of 71 goals were scored — setting a new record for the most goals in a single week of qualifying matches in Champions League history. This surpassed the previous record of 67 goals established in the fifth matchday of the 2024 - 2025 season.

In this round, 6 out of 18 matches ended with 5 or more goals. Among them, the dominant 7 - 2 win by reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain against Bayer Leverkusen contributed the most goals.

The impressive victory over Bayer Leverkusen not only solidified PSG's top spot in the qualifying round but also set a remarkable record. The French club became the first team in UEFA Champions League history to score 45 goals in a single year. Moreover, this record is expected to rise as Luis Enrique’s squad still has three more matches to play in the 2025 UEFA Champions League.

Other high-scoring games included PSV Eindhoven’s 6 - 2 win over Napoli, Barcelona’s 6 - 1 triumph against Olympiacos, and both Chelsea and Liverpool securing 5 - 1 victories against Ajax and Eintracht Frankfurt respectively.

After three matchdays, PSG, Arsenal, and Inter Milan remain unbeaten, with the English and Italian representatives yet to concede a goal.

Arsenal’s four-goal win over Atlético Madrid marked a milestone with seven consecutive victories against La Liga teams. This impressive streak includes wins over major clubs such as Real Madrid (twice), Sevilla (twice), Girona, Athletic Club, and Atlético Madrid. This record not only highlights the Gunners’ strength but also demonstrates their dominance over Spanish teams, which have traditionally posed challenges for Premier League clubs in European competitions.

Matchday 4 of the 2025 – 2026 Champions League qualifying round will take place on November 5 and 6. Notably, on November 5, Liverpool will face Real Madrid, and PSG will meet Bayern Munich. The following day, the clash between Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund promises to be highly exciting.
