Text/Liu Xiaoxin, president of the "Football" newspaper The Centennial School Cup is over, and when the latest issue of "Football" is over, more than 500 children and principals are already on the high-speed train and plane back to their respective cities. What has the past week been like for all of us? Is it a party, or is it a communication? Is it a confirmation of the past, or a reflection on the future?
For the past decade, the newspaper has been seriously looking at and thinking about this word that has spread all over the country - school football. The principals are thanking "Football" for giving everyone a precious experience, but in fact, it is these 24 century-old schools from 18 provinces across the country that have given us the most rare opportunity to test some ideas. The dedication to the century-old famous school is probably not simply for the specifications of the competition, but more importantly, the greater influence, deeper historical and cultural accumulation, and richer educational concept of the century-old famous school have enabled us to complete a more targeted and representative sampling survey. Seven days, 60 out-and-out games, and a passionate and serious discussion forum, gave us a further or more certain answer in our hearts.
The real value of the Centennial Famous School Elite Exchange Tournament is by no means the score written on the scoreboard, it is said by Yao Bo, the head coach of the women's football team of Licheng No. 2 Middle School, that the girls who won the championship of the World Student Games are on the train to the field, with their heads down and piled together to complete the homework assigned by the school; It was the captain of the high school affiliated to Peking University, and when he was interviewed by reporters, the bell suddenly rang around him, which turned out to be the alarm clock he set for himself, reminding him that it was time to memorize words every day; The video taken by Yang Donglian, a teacher at Xiamen People's Primary School, shows the children lining up in the cafeteria to bow and thank the aunts who provide them with delicious meals every day...... Keeping these fleeting snippets in mind, what exactly is school football? In fact, it is these inconspicuous bits and pieces hidden behind the results of the competition. Because school football is neither an empty concept nor a big rush sport, but should first and foremost be an educational issue. In addition to books and syllabus, physical education, like music and art, is a necessary supplement to school education, and the significance of school football to education is no different.
Around 1996, with the football school as a symbol, football threw off the campus and plunged headlong into the dead end of captive training, and the problem of education became a formal solution by hiring teachers to open cultural classes. In 2015, the Ministry of Education issued a document to promote the full popularization of campus football, this time, the campus got rid of football, a large number of characteristic schools and training camps, and undertook the dual indicators of football talent training and competitive performance, and the professional problem became a form to hire a professional coach to be responsible for training to solve. Objectively speaking, these are two misunderstandings in the concept of campus football. In fact, campus football should not be campus football, but campus plus football. According to the definition of primary language, it should not be a partial phrase, but a conjunctive phrase. At least, at the current meeting of the Department of Sports and Health Arts, campus football is only one project in charge of this department; At least, at the current meetings of the Chinese Football Association, campus football is only a branch of the work of Chinese football youth. However, we may ignore the most basic fact, compulsory education is China's national policy, aside from special reasons, the only way for all Chinese children to grow up is to assume the function of compulsory education on campus, from this point of view, football still needs, or can we distinguish between campus football and non-campus football?
Many grand ideas often come from the simplest interpretations. In the past ten years, we have been discussing how to do a good job in campus football, and have been exploring how to promote the integration of sports and education in campus football. Whether sports and education are integrated or not, because we have always regarded this as a game of two forces, if everyone is thinking about problems in the same pool, how can we integrate or not? Of the 24 teams participating in the Centennial School Cup, who are still the math teachers and Chinese teachers in charge of training? Teachers, principals and coaches are actually as simple as store managers, floor managers and chefs in restaurants, everyone does what they are good at and manages what they should do, which is what campus football should look like.
Thinking further down is the question of methodology. For example, how to do a good job of popularization? Song Yu, deputy director of the Jinan Municipal Education Bureau, is thinking about what is the "most beautiful home field" every day, what "the school has a team, there are games every week, and everyone participates", I am afraid that he is not thinking about how to send players to the national team; For example, how to cultivate elites? That's the matter of the Youth Department of the Chinese Football Association, how to establish an integrated talent training system, how to implement scientific competition training standards with regional bases, I'm afraid few principals will care; Another example is the issue of opening up the upward channel for football talents, which is of concern to almost everyone, and it seems that it is indeed necessary to give football talents a guarantee to receive a good education, and it is indeed necessary to eliminate the fundamental concerns of parents. However, we still think the problem is too complicated, although this is a national chess problem that requires top-level design, related to a series of factors such as standards, selection mechanisms and educational resource allocation, but just like special enrollment, it has long been a large system of integration of sports and education and resource sharing under the national system, whether it is "631" or "3+4", what is new to open up a small channel under the large system? What's so hard about it?
In the past seven days, what has been recorded under our camera and in the text is not a song or a crying deed, but just some trivial fragments that we are accustomed to, the principals are concerned about the scope of admissions, the teachers are concerned about the players' schedules and homework, and the coaches are concerned about whether their teams should also adopt the three-center-back system. Life is actually as simple as that, in the classroom, playing football on the field, it is school football.
One thing, when it is done, is the most beautiful.
