Nguyễn Filip suffers a recurrence of injury

Nguyễn Filip had a recurrence of his groin injury and could not finish the game versus Macarthur FC on October 23rd night.

Specifically, at the 72nd minute of the match, while CAHN was leading by one goal, coach Mano Polking surprised everyone by substituting goalkeeper Nguyễn Filip with the young keeper Nguyễn Thành Vinh.

This move surprised many fans since the goalkeeper position is rarely changed, especially when the match is running smoothly. However, it was revealed that Nguyễn Filip had a groin injury relapse and could not continue playing. Currently, the club has not released any updates about the condition of the Vietnamese diaspora star, but if Filip Nguyễn's injury is serious, it would be a significant loss for the police team.

Additionally, Filip Nguyễn is likely to miss the Vietnamese national team’s November training camp as coach Kim Sang Sik prepares for the match against Laos. He was also absent during the October call-up. Nevertheless, recently, the 1992-born player has been gradually regaining his former form.

Returning to the match, right after Nguyễn Filip left the field, CAHN conceded an equalizing goal, resulting in only one point secured at home. For Thành Vinh, this result is understandable as he is only 20 years old and lacks much match experience, particularly in international fixtures.

With this result, Macarthur has 5 points and remains temporarily at the top of the standings. In the next match on November 6th, coach Mano Polking’s team will travel to Australia for the second leg.
