Is Thể Công Viettel about to part ways with Vietnam’s top crosser?

Defender Trương Tiến Anh is expected to leave Thể Công Viettel.

According to sources from Bongdaplus, defender Trương Tiến Anh is likely to depart from Thể Công Viettel after celebrating his 27th birthday on April 25, 2026. Currently, his contract with the club has about six months remaining. Some reports indicate that the winger has reached a preliminary agreement with a financially strong club in the northern region.

In fact, rumors about Trương Tiến Anh leaving Thể Công Viettel have been circulating for some time. Since key players like Hoàng Đức and Đức Chiến left, Trương Tiến Anh was expected to become the leading figure for Thể Công in the competitions they participate in.

Born in 1999, the defender has been an indispensable member of coach Velizar Popov’s squad since the end of last season and throughout this season. He has played all seven matches in the V-League this season, providing two assists and helping the Army team maintain an unbeaten record from the start of the tournament.

His role is not only significant at the club level but also clearly demonstrated in the Vietnam national team jersey.

In 2023, the player from Hải Dương (now Hải Phòng) was first called up by coach Philippe Troussier to the national team to prepare for two friendly matches against Hong Kong and Syria.
