Superstar Lionel Messi extends his contract with Inter Miami FC

On October 23, Inter Miami confirmed the news by sharing a video of Messi signing the contract at their new stadium, Freedom Park.

The club's statement emphasized that the extension ensures the 38-year-old star will continue playing through and beyond the 2026 World Cup hosted in North America. The club, once co-owned by superstar David Beckham, praised Messi’s decision as a demonstration of his "full commitment" to the team and the city.

Messi expressed his happiness that the Miami project has become "a beautiful reality" and that he looks forward to continuing his journey with Inter Miami while enjoying experiences at the new Freedom Park stadium.

Since joining Major League Soccer and Inter Miami in 2023, Messi has marked a historic turning point for the league, driving record attendance and revenue. Despite his age, he has maintained a dominant form, winning the MLS Golden Boot in 2025 with 29 goals in 28 matches and becoming the fastest player in league history to reach 40 goals.
