Lamine Yamal caused a stir by making a bold remark regarding Real Madrid and the officiating team ahead of the El Clasico.
Currently the brightest star at Barcelona, Lamine Yamal is attracting all attention. Just days before El Clasico, the young winger grabbed headlines with his audacious comments about Real Madrid and the referees.
During a Twitch program of the Kings League, Yamal was asked if the Porcinos team resembled Real Madrid. The 2007-born rising star answered frankly: “Yes, definitely, they often dive and complain...”
Notably, Yamal is co-owner of La Capital club competing in Spain’s Kings League. This weekend, his team faces Porcinos, coinciding with Barcelona’s match against Real Madrid, which makes the comparison even more highlighted.
Porcinos’ owner, Ibai Llanos, immediately responded: “Real Madrid dive?” Yamal stood by his opinion, while Gerard Pique jumped in to support: “Ibai, wait and see.”
This weekend, Barcelona will travel to Bernabeu to face Real Madrid in La Liga’s 10th round. The Catalan team needs a win to reclaim the top spot, and Yamal is determined to make an impact.
In a chat with Ibai, a Real Madrid fan, Yamal was asked if he was confident about scoring at Bernabeu, to which he replied confidently: “I already did, have you forgotten?”
This answer alludes to Barcelona’s 4-0 victory at Real Madrid’s stadium last season, where Yamal sealed the score with a decisive right-footed shot. Moreover, the 18-year-old also netted twice more against Los Blancos, in the Spanish Super Cup and the La Liga return leg in May.
This weekend, the Spanish player aims to repeat his feat to help Barcelona regain the number one spot from the “White Vultures.”
This season, Yamal remains an irreplaceable part of Barcelona’s attack. The 18-year-old has scored three goals and provided five assists across all competitions, contributing to the Catalan club’s victories in La Liga and the Champions League.
Yamal’s recent outstanding form is expected to continue helping Barcelona secure a favorable result at Bernabeu, thereby reaffirming the reigning La Liga champion’s status.
The match between Real Madrid and Barcelona will take place at 22:15 on October 26th.
