Following its opening, Thai Nguyen Stadium is set to host the 2025 Four Nations Football Tournament – Thai Nguyen.
The Thai Nguyen Stadium will officially open and kick off with the 2025 Four Nations Football Tournament – Thai Nguyen on December 21. The competition will feature four well-known professional clubs: PVF-CAND, Hanoi FC, The Cong Viettel, and Hoang Anh Gia Lai.
The teams will compete in a round-robin format, with two matches scheduled each day. Thai Nguyen Province pledges full support for the teams, covering all accommodation and travel expenses, ensuring security, and providing the best living and playing conditions starting from the team gathering on December 19.
With a total investment of 535 billion VND, spanning 15 hectares, and seating 22,000 spectators, Thai Nguyen Stadium will become the largest stadium in the Northern Midland and Mountainous region, comparable in size to Hang Day Stadium. It features Zeon Zoysia grass meeting international standards, an automatic irrigation system, and professional maintenance to fully meet the requirements for hosting professional tournaments.
Previously, local leaders along with the Vietnam Football Federation task force directly inspected the construction progress of Thai Nguyen Stadium, reviewing all components such as the turf, stands, sound and lighting systems, functional rooms, technical areas, security, fire prevention, and emergency exits.
The inauguration ceremony of the stadium and the opening of the 2025 Four Nations Football Tournament – Thai Nguyen are scheduled for December 21. This event is part of the activities celebrating the success of the first Provincial Party Congress of Thai Nguyen for the 2025-2030 term; it also looks forward to the 14th National Party Congress and commemorates the 81st anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 – December 22, 2025).
Thai Nguyen Stadium is a key sports facility with 22,000 seats, the largest in the Northern Midland and Mountainous region, and is expected to be an ideal venue for hosting major national and international cultural, sports, and tourism events in the near future.
