The arrival of Marcus Rashford at Barcelona during the recent summer transfer window sparked great excitement not only within the club but also in the Camp Nou dressing room.
According to the latest revelation from journalist Guillem Balague, one of the most impressed and enthusiastic about Rashford’s move to Barca was the young talent Lamine Yamal.
Rashford joined Barcelona on loan from Manchester United after a period of decline in the Premier League. Under coach Hansi Flick’s guidance, the English player is gradually regaining top form with impressive performances, scoring 5 goals and providing 6 assists in just 12 matches. It seems Rashford has earned not only the trust of the German coach but also the admiration of his teammates, especially the younger generation.
In an interview with BBC Sport, journalist Guillem Balague recounted: “When Lamine learned that Barcelona were interested in Rashford, he immediately said ‘Sign him, sign him’.’ He used to play PlayStation with Rashford and always admired his speed and skills.”
According to Balague, Yamal, despite being very young, always shows professionalism and humility. He is integrating well with the senior players in the first team and is respected by other young players. “He is quiet, mature, and really likes Rashford. All the young players at Barca admire Rashford because he has played for big clubs,” Balague added.
Currently, Rashford is enjoying a great spell at Barcelona. He recently admitted in an interview with ESPN that he wants to stay at Camp Nou for a long time, stating “Barça is the greatest club in football history.” Rashford’s strong form is also a major morale boost ahead of the El Clásico against Real Madrid.
With the positive relationship between Rashford and young stars like Yamal, along with consistent performances under Hansi Flick, Barcelona is fostering a united and enthusiastic atmosphere ahead of a crucial phase of the season.
