U16 national football coach Toshitoshi Ukishima: Technology must always be perfected, high-intensity and fast-paced are the key

Reporter Chen Yong reports At the China Football Development Seminar held in Xi'an, Song Kai, chairman of the Chinese Football Association, mentioned the concept of "technology is king" and "three from one big and one strong". This concept has been widely recognized by coaches at home and abroad, Taishan Youth Team head coach Cui Peng mentioned in an interview that he led the Taishan 08 echelon in the first two weeks of winter training, the average daily running distance of players is more than 10,000 meters, and the high-intensity running distance is more than 1,500 meters. In training on January 11, the two figures were 20,253 meters and 2,321 meters, respectively.

The coach of the Chinese U16 national team, Toshitoshi Ukishima, also recognizes this very much. At the summary meeting of the Youth Training Center of the Chinese Football Association held in Suzhou, as a professional lecturer and professional coach, he also focused on the concept of football development: technology must always be improved, and the application of technology in a high-intensity context is the key.

Ukishima's technology-related point of view is that we must always strive for excellence. He used a simple video example to compare the receiving and passing of Japanese players with Chinese players: in a small square (about 1 meter to 1.5 meters in length), Japanese players can stop the ball in the direction of the ball each time, while in the training of Chinese teams, most Chinese players cannot complete it and must be adjusted to complete the next pass. In the video, it can be clearly seen that the Japanese player's passing is a two-step process: stop the ball to the right position and pass the ball; The Chinese players stop the ball, adjust the position of the ball, and pass the ball. In addition, there is a situation where the passer is unable to accurately pass the ball to the player in the square, which also causes the player in the square to not be able to stop the ball effectively.

In Ukishima's view, players in modern football will spend less and less time on the pitch handling the ball. He shared a game video for this, in which the Chinese players received the ball because it was three steps of stopping, adjusting and passing, one more step would give one more second, and the original backcourt pass was stealed, which led to the opponent's threatening attack and even goals. Judging from the situation of the game at that time, if the first step was effective, the opponent would not be able to steal at all.

In contrast, Kubo's game video shows that every pass he receives is just right, especially in Kubo's character capture video, which clearly shows his awareness of constant observation and fine basic skills.

Ukishima also believes that there is still an obvious problem with Chinese players, who lack the ability of both feet and are accustomed to receiving passes with their dominant feet, which actually increases the time it takes to handle the ball. He said that it is more obvious that it is actually a long pass, through his observation, the Chinese players have the ability to pass long with their dominant feet, but there is a big problem with long passes with non-dominant feet.

Heading is also an important technical ability in modern football, whether it is defending, attacking or pressing, it requires excellent header ability, which requires good rhythm, accurate landing judgment and jump timing, as well as header technique. To this end, Ukishima suggests that this aspect of the technique can be carried out by various youth teams at a younger age.

Regarding the technical ability of the national junior team, Ukishima said that the training time of the national junior team at all levels is very limited, so he also hopes that the players can strengthen their individual technical ability training at the club.

Ukishima said that the Chinese players have very good speed, physical fitness, especially explosiveness, but how to translate the advantage into the game and how to continue to use the advantage in the game for 90 minutes is the direction of improvement. The technical evaluation is not only about the ability to put the foot or head the ball. Normal is the three aspects of observation, judgment and execution, of which observation is a precondition, only good observation can make accurate judgment, and then achieve good execution. However, many players in the high-intensity and fast-paced heart rate quickly exceeds the standard, at this time he can no longer make effective observation, but also lost the ability to judge, naturally does not have good execution ability, including high-intensity and fast-paced technology will also be deformed.

To this end, Ukishima Min shared a lesson plan of his own through the video, which is a lesson plan for high-intensity training: multi-zone linkage sprint and steal, that is, three areas form a triangle, each area has 4 players, each wearing 4 colors of vests, the coach will choose a color each time, the player wearing the color should sprint to the next area, 1 grab 3, and the requirement is to grab the ball with all his strength, and then run to the next area after hearing the command, and sprint back to his own area after hearing the command again.

Ukishima said that this training requirement was to achieve a heart rate of 180, and as a result, many players reached 180 early. The video shows that the player was very easy in the first sprint and grab the ball, the second sprint and the ball were problematic, and the third sprint was no longer able to sprint and grab. What's more, the player returned to his area after three sprints and welcomed a player of another color, but the player was unable to make effective technical moves due to physical exhaustion and was constantly tackled.

Ukishima said that through the analysis of multiple competitions, the benchmark for medium-intensity runs over 14 kilometers is 30%, which is not a big problem for Chinese players, but the benchmark for high-intensity runs over 21 kilometers is 10%, and Chinese players are far from enough in this data. Ukishima believes that training is very important, and high-quality games are even more important, and only high-quality games can motivate players to run.
